Day Forty-One
Some people wonder why it's "forty" and not "fourty." Well, it's for the same reason we don't say "threety," "twoty," or "fivety."
Anyway, I had my interview at UCLA today with the assistant dean of the film school. She was nice, seemed down-to-earth and asked me mostly pretty answerable questions. Although I did get caught on that old weed-out question, "What's two and two together?" (You think the answer is four, but it's actually twenty-two. Dammit!) In a couple days, or maybe even less time than that, I'll find out if I made it to the second round of interviews, where they narrow the field down to six. This could be viewed as the semifinals, the playoffs, or the penultimate episode of "The Bachelor," take your pick.
In closing, the nation breathes a collective sigh of relief tonight as Mary-Kate Olsen is released from treatment with plenty of time left before she starts her freshman year at NYU. I wonder how many other incoming NYU freshmen were in there with her. And don't they tell you not to talk about the other people you met in the clinic? Hmm, that could be awkward.
