Day Ninety-One
I had a fun, productive day in Newport Beach today.
Wait, did I say "productive"? Hmm, that word shouldn't have been in that sentence. Anyway, see below for a brief photographic essay of the trip. The weather was great, but the best part was the food. Lunch (including a beer) at CPK, then a big-ass waffle cone at Maggie Moo's on Balboa Island, then some of that saltwater taffy that seems to spontaneously self-generate anywhere there's water and tourists. Sure, I could have had all that stuff without driving 50 miles each way, but it just wouldn't have been as much fun. Plus, I might never have discovered the brand new Ikea in Costa Mesa. That pretty much made the trip, right there.
Also, I finally got the greenlight on the UCLA job. They gave me the salary I asked for and I start on Monday. At last, the workforce has reclaimed me. (Cue the Imperial March.)
The apartment manager has posted fliers saying that an exterminator is going to be checking out all the apartments for termite infestation. Of course, when they come around to my place, Stuart is just going to step right up and be all, "Dudes, chill out. I've got it covered. Just do a 180 right back out the door and leave the termites to yours truly." I don't know why Stuart talks like Spicoli; he just does.
