Day Eighty-Eight
At the Glendale Galleria tonight, I saw a whole bunch of posters for the soon to be classic Katie Homes film First Daughter. In each of them, Katie was wearing one of those "mischievous" half-smiles that you typically only see in cartoons and/or Olsen Twins memorabilia, and given the fact that I sort of respect her as an actress, I have to hope that either (a) the studio publicists forced her at gunpoint to smile like that during the photo shoot, or (b) she genuinely didn't realize how ridiculous she looked and will cringe in horror when she sees the posters.
Saw Cellular at the Arclight, and it was pretty good. One thing that was distracting about it, though, was that they had the actual William Macy playing a role that would usually, in this type of movie, be occupied by a Poor Man's William Macy like Dan Hedaya, James Rebhorn, or maybe even Pruitt Taylor Vince. Meanwhile, Kim Basinger was her usual believable-but-annoying self in a role that probably only adds up to about ten minutes of screen time if you think about it.
Now I need to figure out whether or not to start my laundry at this late hour. That's a decision that really requires my full attention, so I'd better end here.

Everytime I see press for that movie I just think "Is this for the seven people who don't like Mandy Moore" because it's basically Chasing Liberty...again. And I loved me some creek, so I'm a little worried over Miss Holmes decision.
And the Mandy Moore film was, at one point, called "First Daughter." No one even PRETENDS to differentiate their movies anymore.
