Day Eighty-Six
I think the song "1985" by Bowling For Soup is a travesty. First of all, it's a beyond-shameless attempt to cash in on Gen Y faux-nostalgia, but that's the least offensive thing about it. It's not even a song. It's just a list of things from the 80s, and not even creative things, just the most obvious and frequently referenced songs and movies from that time period. I'm not even convinced that Bowling For Soup actually lived in the 80s; they could just as easily have been watching a late-night infomercial for one of those "Totally 80s" CD sets and taken some notes. Please.
Anyway, it's late and I've already spent too many hours trying to get my brand new AirPort Express working. So far I can play one song through it, and then when I try to select another one everything freezes. If it doesn't fix itself pretty soon (or I figure out how to fix it; I think both are equally likely), it's going to be a quick round trip back to the Apple store at the Grove.
I am the only person who didn't watch The Apprentice tonight. Eventually all the Apprentice watchers are going to be taken away in the Donald's spaceship, all Heaven's Gate-style, and I'll have the planet to myself and will never have to wait in line at Ikea again.
