Day N
My unemployment didn't last. I appologise. I got a fulltime job. However, yesterday here in New York City, we had our first day of the Transit Workers' Strike. I must say, the strike is fantastic. It makes people take their time. It brings out more bicycles and pedestrians onto the streets, and forces people to carpool. Who could ask for anything better? Best of all, it allows those of us who don't have much going on with the job to weasle out of going to the office and DOING ANY WORK!
Yesterday felt like a day of unemployment, and damn, do I miss it. The day started with me doing absolutely nothing. I woke up early and lied in bed for what seemed like hours. Then I leisurely got on my bicycle and crossed town to run some errands. The office was desolate. I chatted with the other four people there (out of about a hundred), until half of them left. I helped my friend shop on line, made some personal phone calls, and looked at the company holiday pictures. Then I went home, made some food, watched a movie, and went to sleep.
What joy! I miss unemployment... I guess it will be a while for me.
regards,
