Days Ten and Eleven: And then...
Yeah, so I finally skipped a day. But not to worry; I still remember everything from Wednesday. So here, without further ado, is Wednesday.
Um.
One sec.
Oh, right. I woke up very determined to get a whole bunch of writing done, since I hadn't really gotten much done in the past week and 2 days. But first I needed to do some job applications, because the money ain't gonna last forever. (Or will it? Maybe I should just wait and see. It would definitely be easier.) So I applied for 2 positions at UCLA, one in Development (whatever that is) and the other in the Grad School of Education. Now we play the waiting game. (The waiting game is kind of like Clue, but without the candlestick. There is, however, a library, as we will see in the next sentence.) By about 2:30 I made it over to the Palms branch of the LA Public Library and busted out the laptop to work on the Gilmore Girls script. I hammered out about 10 pages, then went for a walk up to the Westside Pavillion (is it pavilion or pavillion?), got my glasses tightened at LensCrafters, and browsed Barnes & Noble a while. Went home, had dinner, watched "To Live and Die in L.A.," went to sleep. More or less.
Thursday (that would be today, almost), it was the day of the dentist. Ate nothing in the morning except for toothpaste, and went up to Brentwood for the usual poking and prodding (and, this time, x-rays). The hygienist told me I need to floss better on the left side of my mouth. When I got home I watched some TV and possibly blacked out for a few hours, since I don't remember what I did until I met Randy up in Westwood at about 3:00 and we ate at Chili's (the very same Chili's that incurred the wrath of many of us last year when we got terrible service...but I guess enough time had gone by that we felt okay giving it another shot). Then I went back, changed, and drove back up to the valley to hang out with Randy and Eti before going out for drinks with former co-worker Kelley. It went very well, I'd say. We talked and drank (mostly talked) for probably three and a half hours. In fairly stark contrast to the girl from Monday, I'm really looking forward to seeing Kelley again. To be continued... (I hope.)
