Days Twelve and (Uh-Oh) Thirteen

Let's make this quick because I want to go to bed.

Friday I mostly stayed home and tried to write. I at least got a few pages into the final act of my Gilmore Girls script, so now I can finally say I'm in the home stretch. I also got my teacher's comments back on my CSI script; I'll try to fix that when I finish the Gilmore Girls.

Evening-wise, Divaker and I went and had dinner at El Torito in Beverly Hills, then drinks at Trader Vic's (and lots that damned addictive snack mix), then more drinks (and some brief unsucessful girl-hitting-on) at Renee's in Santa Monica. Then Divaker stayed over on the couch.

Saturday Divaker and I eventually got up and went to Overland Cafe for noon-ish breakfast. Then, around 4, I met up Eti, Randy, and Ben (Eti's brother, for the benefit of everybody who reads this who isn't Eti) on 3rd street Promenade to do some clothes looking-around. We hit the trifecta of Gap, Old Navy, and Urban Outfitters (and I really wanted the "Caucasia Knows How to Party" shirt at UO but it was 24 bucks so I declined). At the Gap Randy tried on some clothes in yet another effort to look more like me. Also, the Gap is placing a recall on the kid's plastic cowboy hat. Apparently it turns children into free-thinking consumers who choose reasonably priced clothing over expensive designer crap. I drove up from Santa Monica to Topanga (via the PCH) to meet Rossanna at Theatricum, this really cool outdoor theatre, where we saw a pretty hilarious (and over the top, but mostly in a good way) performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Rossanna's friend Sheryl also met us there, and after the play the three of us tried to find somewhere to drink...which, it turns out, is pretty difficult in a one-Starbucks town like Topanga. This old guy sitting on the side of the road gave us directions to some party at somebody's house, but after realizing that's exactly how most teen horror movies start, we decided to pass and just went home.
