Day Ninety-Five
And then there was one. It is now (technically) Sunday September 19, my last day as a free, unemployed man. In approximately thirty-one hours I will be reporting for work. Subtracting from that eight hours of sleep tonight, another eight tomorrow night, that leaves me with fifteen hours to take one final stand. But is there even anything left to do? I would hazard a guess that on the average person's list of fears, "running out of leisure activities" isn't especially high up there. Well, let me tell you: it should be.
Luckily, my final Saturday was a blast. Rossanna and Tiago were kind enough to babysit me for pretty much the whole day. We had lunch in Silverlake, we went on a fairly long geocaching journey through some spots in Hollywood (including the cool-as-hell Hollywood Reservoir which none of us knew existed), we had gelato, we shopped, we had dinner, and then I got suckered into watching The Apprentice (of which I've never watched a complete episode before) and I hate to say it but it seems fairly likely that I'll be watching it from now on.
The fact remains, though, how do I spend my Sunday? How do I avoid making a ninety-six day vacation seem ultimately anticlimactic?
