Day 11: What happened to Day 10?
Day 10 was eaten by a raging headcold. Welcome to Day 11.
Yesterday was the start of the long-awaited TV season. Martha Stewart's Apprentice turned out to be sorta meh. Trump's catch phrase, "You're fired!" is so much better than Martha's "You just don't fit in. Goodbye." LAME! "You're fired" is short, sweet, and to the point. It allows for Trump to circle in on the contestant, point out flaw after flaw after flaw, say their name, pause, let the music build, then "You're fired!" is such a great climax. Martha's pathetic dismissal, followed by her generic letter-writing, ruins the tension instead of releasing it. And unless she writes something either funny or creepy in those letters, I have to say that the whole letter-writing thing is pretty boring.
In other news, I ruined $16 worth of some of the planet's finest chocolate last night. It was sad. I tried to make a flourless chocolate cake from "How To Be A Domestic Goddess" by Nigella Lawson (great book), but some water seeped into my springform pan and dampened the whole thing. I ended up putting it into some pretty glasses, sprinkling it with a little Kahlua, and covering it in vanilla ice cream and strawberries. It tasted great. Just wasn't what I had intended.
Today, I'm trying to figure out how to fit in studying, gym, and research for my prospective client, then dinner at Nick's. That's not so bad, right?

I think the chocolatey concoction in the pretty glasses with the ice cream and strawberries was almost as deliciously hot as the sexual tension between Martha and Howie. Yummy!
I wonder if at some point she'll get confused and think she's writing a letter from prison.
"Dear Jeffrey,
I'm sorry that you had to be the first to go. Not to fail, but rather not to fully succeed.
Further to my correspondence of last Sunday, please send me two hundred dollars and three more cartons of cigarettes: two regular, one menthol. Big Betty has been making threatening gestures in the washroom , despite my firm insistence that I have no interest in being her bitch. Hopefully by paying her off I can convince her to desist with this unpleasant behavior.
Yours sincerely,
M."
