Day Forty-Four

Another $60 down the drain.  The drain, in this case, is Honda of Santa Monica, where I had to take my car in this morning to get the left front blinker replaced.  Why?  Because I did what I have successfully avoided doing for over two years: scraped the side of the car next to me when I was pulling out of the garage last night.  Just about 26 months of doing it perfectly (at least, not damaging anyone ELSE'S car), and then just like that I'm off the wagon.  Hopefully the bodywork for the person whose car I scraped won't be too costly.  It was just the area behind the rear wheel, so it's not like they need a new door or anything.  Fingers are definitely crossed.  Wood is being knocked on.  $200 or under, and I'll be happy; or, at least, not more than $240, so I can keep the total cost of this whole mishap under $300.

Tomorrow afternoon sees the arrival of my parents.  After almost 4 years I'm running out of L.A. sights to show them... I mean, they've seen most of the crack dens and syringe-filled beaches by now.  Oh well, I'll think of something.
