Days Twenty-Two and Twenty-Three: This is Jeopardy! (Or not.)

On Monday not much happened.

Tuesday, Robert and I took the Jeopardy! test in Culver City. We practiced most of the morning, looking up trivia and maps and stuff online and quizzing each other. Also, I wracked my brain thinking up stuff to write on the little questionnaire where it asks you what you'd say about yourself on the show. Why do they even do that? Nobody I know likes watching it, and I'm sure the people up there doing it aren't exactly thrilled about it either. Anyway, we got to the Culver City Radisson about 2:30, filled out the paperwork, and took the test.

Sample question: What's a 9-letter word starting with "G" that's a relative of a whippet?

Um... right.

(The answer, as Robbie and I figured out later on via Google, is "greyhound." Apparently a whippet is a skinny dog.)

Not all of them were that hard (there were also answers involving Destiny's Child and Jack Black), but there were enough annoying ones to knock us both out of the running. Actually, based on our discussion after the test, it looks like if we had teamed up we probably would have passed, since we each got different ones wrong.

So, we can take it again in a year. Maybe by then I'll know a little more about ancient history and the Bible (the two categories in which I always seem to get my ass kicked).
