Day Sixty-Five
I managed to beat Nancy in the first racquetball game today, but that only made her mad: the next two games were fairly textbook examples of having one's ass handed to him or her. (Him, in this case.)
After racquetball we were joined by Randy and Eti for dinner (hi eti) at Noodle Planet, where we waited for freakin' ever for Nancy's epic bowl of soup. I mean, really, is there something about soup preparation that these people are failing to comprehend? My Thai spaghetti with fried tofu was out at least ten minutes prior to the soup. And as we all learned from Seinfeld, soup isn't even a meal! Please.
Prior to racquetball, I drove Divaker to the airport so he could fly to Chicago to visit Chris, who is just finishing up his summer internship at the Tribune. Employed Nick would have taken a day or two off work and joined him. Unemployed Nick didn't think it was financially viable. Then again, Employed Nick never could have spent four whole days at the Coffee Bean writing a screenplay, so I think we know who got the last laugh. For now, Employed Nick lies dormant, waiting for his chance to surface again and rule the earth. Kind of like that Cthulhu dude.
